As I sit by the fire trying to understand
Where are you now?
Can you hear my call?
Only days since you left
Without you here, days feel like years
Above me the moon shines bright
I wish you could see it with your own eyes
Fool I am to think you cannot
You are probably smiling at me from above
Do you remember our times?
They were bittersweet
Two young people in love
Drank with dreams
Free as doves
As I sit here tonight
I can feel my soul wanting to cry
Wish as I may, I cannot bring you back
I remember the night we sat here, on this very spot
That fateful night which ripped my soul
Your father had told me of your distress
I wanted to save you and take you far away
Where nothing could touch you...
Not even death
Remember our nights?
Our bodies burned with passion
Burning like the scorching sun
We were united under the moon's embrace
We made love in the purest way
With a gentle kiss you marked my soul
My heart raced as I felt the warmth of your lips
Our bodies became one each time we embraced
I still remember the sound of your voice
Each touch,
Each kiss
Each caress.
I remember when you said goodbye
Deaf to my cries and protests
You could not bear to see me suffer
Yet being without you was my punishment
You said life was calling you
The life of others still waiting to be touched
Your father informed of the promised you made
Your word was your bond and your jail
My moments with you were gold
Your sweet smile,
Your gentle soul
Your stubborn nature
Gypsy you were called
I watched you from afar as new loves waltzed by
You touched their lives and they touched yours
Briefs moments of heaven hid your pain well
Yet none of them understood your heart
They were afraid of our relationship
For you were "getting lost"
I fueled your passions
You fueled my love
You let me deep within your world
Where was the sin in that?
Whenever you needed comfort
I wished you had come to me
The one who understood you
The one always waiting
Now you are free
Free to get lost wherever you wish
So if you hear me
Please get lost with me
For not even death can take
The pure love we shared.
