Naked

(Rough Copy)

Naked I came into this world
Naked and unashamed
Although the years have gone by
My naked body still remains my road map

My shameless nudity is but an expression of life's origin
Every scar and every wrinkle hold a story
Stories of victories and defeats,
The story of a soul too wild to be tamed
The story of a warrior who fought through the pain

This is a Requiem for my soul
Today it feels tired and old
Although my body may not show it
I am a thousand years old

My eyes have seen many things
Many times my soul was torn
Within me I carry secrets
Secrets too vile to pronounce out loud
Memories that haunt my dreams
A mind that dances with madness
A heart heavy with sadness

I am a gypsy soul blessed by the ancients
Yet within me I carry a curse
The curse of the tireless seeker
The curse poets, healers and warriors speak of
Blessed and cursed to live in desire
The desire for peace to rest my tired soul

Within my spirit lies treasure
Only those who dive into my abyss may reach it
But are you willing to look in?
Are you strong enough to face the truth?

I am but life's mirror
The stone by which you will stand
But are you brave enough?
Or will you let life pass you by

In this fight I find myself alone
Fear not, I was forged in fire
Broken at times you may see me
But defeated you will not

I will take your pain and vomit its darkness
I will transform your shame into strength
And when the demons come to haunt you
I will sing them the sacred lullaby
And in victory you will rise

Naked like me, you will stand
Ready to defy all their lies
Illusions will be broken
And the sun once more will shine

But today I rest
For my heart is heavy and my spirit thirsts...
It thirsts for rest
It thirsts for love
It thirsts for hope

Yet tomorrow will come
Tomorrow you will see me smile
In love with life
Intoxicated by its ecstasy
And ready to win this fight

I passionately believe one person can make a difference. I write from my own experiences and interests. It is my greatest hope that by writing about my own challenges, victories, hopes and learnings, others may feel inspired to believe more in their inner power and to fully embrace themselves!
