Bloodlines

Where are you now if not lodge within my memory?
You are no longer here yet your wisdom flows through my veins
If I close my eyes, I can still hear your laughter and footsteps
Yet the crude reality remains that you are gone
To place that is not a place
But an ethereal world where there is no more pain

I carry within the the beauty and fury of a tornado
-deadly, glowing, beautiful-
And the enigma of the ancients
Your bloodline my gift
Your death, the poisonous drink meant to tear me apart
No matter, like the rainbow after the storm, I rise

As I submerge my naked body in the ocean waters
I can feel all my senses come to life
I climb a floating log and look at the sky
Remembering our long talks and the way you smiled

I do not know if absence is sweet oblivion
Or just how my hearts aches to explain your departure
Despite it all, absence remains the bridge that unites us
For to forget you would be a sin
This is not goodbye...
This is farewell...
See you next life.

I passionately believe one person can make a difference. I write from my own experiences and interests. It is my greatest hope that by writing about my own challenges, victories, hopes and learnings, others may feel inspired to believe more in their inner power and to fully embrace themselves!
