Soul’s Thirst

(Rough Copy)

Like rivers of honey memories of you flow slowly in my mind
Today I remember my muse and my demise
How long has it been since the last time my eyes feasted on you
Since my body satiated its thirst with your sweet sacred waters

The photograph, a bittersweet reminder of what once was
Naked on it you are...
Naked like Venus
Enigmatic like the full of moon on dark night

Naked, pure and wild
Soft like a spring rain
Free like the waves that rise under the moonlight
Gypsy spirit, always ready to take flight

I remember the touch of your skin
The velvety feeling of your erect breasts against my chest
Lips that tasted of ambrosia
Food of the gods...
Eternal life...
Where I too once feasted

I was blind to think I could cage you
Despite your angelical nature, you are tornado
I ache to see you walk once more up to me
Rise from the ocean as you once did
I am a man dying under a dark eclipse

Rise beautiful creature and stop this torture
Your departure torn my mind and spirit
Rise naked from the waters
Let my eyes feast like the first time I saw you
Come to me, our love let's renew

Years have gone by, yet the hunger remains
The shy young woman has now flourished
In a world incapable of understanding her soul
Come walk my path once more
Hear my cries and free me
Until then, I will remain thirsty for honeycombs
